Meet Maria Merino

We are excited to formally welcome Maria Merino to 1230 Entertainment.

Born in Ecuador, Maria Del Mar Merino later moved to Chicago, where we are now proud to welcome her as a brand ambassador. Merino, 23, is currently pursuing degrees in architecture and interior design at Harrington College, and she has become an integral part of the 1230 team.

Q) Why 1230?

A) I really enjoy the idea of young minds coming together to work on a project that inspires us all in many different ways. Every team member is very different and original, which is how we create unique ideas. 1230 is all about team work-- we are growing together and helping each other succeed. 

Q) What are your goals with 1230?

A) My goal with 1230 is to help the company and myself succeed. I want to help push the brand forward and hopefully achieve unimaginable things!

Q) What are the most important values for an entertainment company to have?

A) I personally think the most important values for a company are leadership and team work. If we all work together on something we strongly believe, we will achieve our goals by inspiring each other to work harder and by staying focused on the prize.

Q) What piece of advice would you give to 12-year-old you?

A) I would probably advise that 12-year-old to live in the moment and never to rush. Everything comes at its own time, so never loose faith and always keep striving for more.

Q) What song or album embodies your essence? 

A) To be honest, I don't have one single song, album or artist that embodies my essence. Im a bit of a mix. I would say someone like Alina Baraz, Alabama Shakes, Band of Horses, Bryson Tiller, old Drake, Bob Marley, Electric Light Orchestra, The Eagles, Blue Foundation, etc.
