Growing the Team

Welcome, Nina, to the 1230 team.

Welcome, Nina, to the 1230 team.

We are proud to formally introduce brand ambassador Nina Coconate. If you didn't get the chance to meet the Chicago native at our inaugural Loft Session, make sure to introduce yourself at the next event. Coconate, 22, has studied both music and marketing, making her a great addition to the 1230 family.

Q) What are your short and long term goals?

A) My short term goals are getting in shape and finishing school. Long-term, I strive to gain success through 1230 and grow my self-confidence with a supportive team.

Q) Who do you look up to?

A) It's not just one person I admire, but many people. I look up to all of my friends and family. I grow and learn from them daily.

Q) Why 1230?

A) I chose 1230 because I love their message, drive, and just the whole entire vision. I'm a firm believer in everything they believe in. Mainly, they want to mold artists, not turn them into what the media wants them to be. Also, they are proud to be from Chicago. Lastly, it's my dream job. It's my dream to be around music. I've been away for a little, and I'm glad to be back.

Q) What are your goals with 1230?

A) My goals with 1230 are to grow as a person and as an artist. I want to learn new skills, find out more about myself, push myself to my limits, and see how far we all can go.

Q) What are the most important values for a company?

A) The key values a company should have are loyalty, communication, respect and to have fun. Fun is not a value, but I think it's just as important as one. What's hard work and dedication if you can't have fun at some point. We are all working on our future, so we should enjoy doing it.

Q) What advice would you give a 12-year-old?

A) I would tell a 12-year-old to never give up. People are going to tell you "no." Trust me, I let "no" get the best of me too often. Be confident in anything you do, and don't take life too seriously.

Q) What song or album embodies your essence?

A) There is not just one album or song that embodies me as a person. There are so many songs I've found powerful messages in, and that's what music is all about. If I have to pick one, it would probably be "Fighter" by Christina Aguilera mainly because I've been through so much, and I'm still willing to keep going. I've been hurt, let down, criticized, and just felt horrible about myself. But I strive to keep going. We all should.
