NALU

Born in Cape Town, South Africa, Nalu is a sonic alchemist, weaving jazz, R&B, acoustic soul and lo-fi into a sound as rich as her heritage. A third-generation musician raised in a family where art was oxygen, she learnt the guitar by age 8, guided by her father, as well as the piano, and flute—tools she now wields to craft her hypnotic world that celebrates womanhood, self-love and spiritual awakening. Her lyrics dissect femininity, love and societal norms, inviting listeners into raw, water-like melodies that mirror the ebb and flow of the human experience.

Fresh off headlining H&M’s Cape Town Launch Party and electrifying audiences on Goyo Club, Nalu is ascending as South Africa’s neo-soul icon. Collaborations with Death Row Records, Red Bull Studios, and global campaigns for Birkenstock and Coca-Cola cement her cross-continental appeal, while her music—praised by Glamour and Cosmopolitan—bridges ancestral roots and modern edge.

With her 2025 EP teasing a bold expansion of her sound (see: the sun-kissed pop-R&B single “Love & Other Drugs”, dropping soon) and a continent-hopping tour on the horizon, Nalu isn’t just making music—she’s igniting a movement. Inspired by unapologetic women worldwide, she amplifies African artistry on the global stage while empowering her community through lyrics that reclaim power, body and soul.

“My art is a rebellion—against silence, against limits. Let’s flow.”Nalu
